Hundreds protest Macedonian beating death


A day after a young Macedonian man was beaten to death in the city of Skopje’s main square, some 300 people have gathered to protest police brutality and the silence of officials, Balkan Insight reported Tuesday.
The man, originally believed to be named Daniel but now identified as 22-year-old Martin Neshkovski, was killed during celebrations held in the square after parliamentary elections Sunday.
The protesters say Neshkovski was beaten by the Macedonian special police force Tigres. A spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior said that although officials were aware a special force member took action on a young man, they were “unaware of killing him.”
Protesters planned to march from the square to the police station to demand officials address the killing....
